It's the first day of Winter - my favorite season of the year!! Our featured Scraptique layout for this month is the Winter layout using KaiserCraft Winter Wonderland papers. I really enjoyed designing it!
I'm scrapping a little differently these days. I've accepted the fact that I will never scrap all the photos I take. I took almost 4,000 already this year and still have the holidays to go through. With digital cameras, that's 4,000 GOOD photos - not ones that have to be altered, thrown out, etc. So....keeping that in mind, I couldn't possibly have the time or afford to scrapbook all those photos with the way I scrapbook. What I've decided to do is take a layout like the one below and create my 2 page spread with my favorite photos from that event (which was the first time I took Jacob to a Bills home game - in December, 2005) when it snowed like crazy at the stadium and throughout the weekend. The remaining photos will be put in the middle of the two page layout in a page protector that takes 12 - 4" x 6" photos. I can add one of the 4" x 6" as a journaling card decorated like the layout is and still have my photos preserved in an album without feeling the need to scrap them all. An alternative would be to have the 4" x 6" photos in a page after the layout. I'm not sure which, but I know it's made me feel better thinking that with all the photos I take that I don't have to scrapbook all of them.
What does everyone else do?? I'd love to hear your suggestions and how you handle taking more photos than you feel you can scrap?
Enjoy some nice wintery music while watching some great snow shots in this rendition of my favorite winter song -
