Last weekend we flew up to Buffalo to put on a Scraptique Holiday Class for our favorite Buffalo Gals (and Canucks, too)! We had a fantastic weekend working on projects, layouts, wall hangings in a Christmas theme, using products from Kaisercraft, Fancy Pants, Prima, Basic Grey. The girls had so much fun and we ALMOST finished everything this time, except the Basic Grey Wassail card kits. We love doing our classes up there and can't wait to go back again soon!
Monday night we went to the Buffalo Bills / Cleveland Browns game (surprise, surprise...) where Super Bowl XXV took on a new meaning to me. If anyone follows football, they know that Buffalo played in their very first Super Bowl in 1991 which was Super Bowl XXV. We had a fantastic season that year and I had just met my now husband in August prior to that. I invited him to the Super Bowl which I had no tickets to, but it was in Tampa and how hard could that be?? I emptied my entire savings account of $1,100 out (which I'd been saving for probably two years) and we went to Tampa. We finally, about 2 hours before the game, found someone to sell us tickets for $950 and got into the Super Bowl. What an experience - the first time for my team, the first time for me - it was awesome. We, however, lost the game at the very end when our future ex-kicker (yes, they fired him after that) kicked the game winning field goal wide right of the goal posts and we lost. Devastation. My husband also found out after that I had I used my entire savings and wasn't pleased - he had a great job and would have bought! But...he married me, so he's paid ever since!
Anyway, to make a long story longer, on the Monday night game last week, we went to the last second of the game and had to kick a field goal to win and what was it - wide stinkin' right. Different kicker - he'll stay, because he doesn't usually miss - in fact he kicked four field goals yesterday as we romped the Chiefs 54-31, but wide right took on a new meaning.
The good thing is that it snowed on the way back to the hotel, which put me in the Christmas spirit. Since we've been back home, the temperatures are in the high 60's / low 70's which is gorgeous.
Here are a few pics of the Buffalo event along with the game. I'll be posting our new Scavenger soon and it's full of holiday bliss!!!
