Sometimes Dreams Do Come True

Non-scrapbooking related post - few & far between!!  It's no secret that we are a sports family!  My favorite sport is football and the boys favorite sport is baseball.  My gorgeous daughter likes both because she is forced to.  Today was the last day of Spring Training in Fort Myers with our beloved Minnesota Twins and my little guy was fortunate enough to be able to watch batting practice inside the cages and watch ALL THE PLAYERS come in to get ready to go onto the field.  He saw THE ENTIRE TEAM come in except for Joe the Show Mauer.  He was in shock.  Total shock.  In all the years we have been to Spring Training, he's been able to get the majority of the player's autographs except for his very favorite player of all, Justin Morneau.  So......today, not only did he get Justin Morneau's autograph, but it was on the Major League Baseball that Morneau threw to him after the first inning of Morneau's first game back this year after battling a concussion.  What a thrill.  He said it was one of the best days of his life.  THANK YOU JUSTIN MORNEAU - YOU TOTALLY ROCK!!!!!!!

Holiday Retreats & Southern Scrapper's Weekend Escapes

We are so excited to be able to offer three scrapbooking retreats over the next couple months!!!  All information is in the attached .pdf fliers.  If anyone has any questions, please feel free to e-mail me (link at side).  The Buffalo one is coming up December 10 & 11, 2010 at the Holiday Inn Buffalo Airport (since the Bills have now won two in a row - yea! - we HAVE to come up for a game and some wings at Duff's!). 

The Tampa Southern Scrapper's Weekend Escape is on January 6-9, 2011 in Lutz, Florida and the Savannah Southern Scrapper's Weekend Escape is on January 27-30, 2011 in Savannah, Georgia.  Both those events will be co-hosted with Kim Mock from Keller's Creations and offer vendors selling products and tons of great classes that are open to the public.  Classes will be taught by myself, Kim Mock, Beverly Jordan (a certified Copic instructor) and Lance Anderson.

For those of you looking for past issues of A Technique A Week, here they are!  We will always post them on our blog as well as within the text of our weekly e-mail, so you have two ways of getting them!  This week's is all about zippers!!  We have tons of zippers in our on-line store and sell them very inexpensively.  Our zippers have red sticky adhesive tape on the backs of them and it makes them so easy to work with.  It's very, very tacky, though, so once it's on your project, it's on there forever!!

A Technique A Week

Thanks for so many e-mails about our new column teaching you techniques!  I'm really excited with the response from so many of you!!  We used this technique to embellish the border of the bottom of a layout.  I'm also going to use it for Christmas cards this year.  If you use this technique or the one from last week, please send photos our way so we can share them with everyone else!!

This week's technique is how to embellish dotted swiss paper.  Just print our file and keep for your own personal use.
